Gregory S. Schmitt, MD, FACS


Dr. Schmitt graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and remained in Chicago to complete his residency in General Surgery.  He then completed a fellowship in Cardio-thoracic Surgery at St. Louis University, after which he moved to Fort Wayne and joined Fort Wayne Cardiovascular Surgeons.  His practice was centered at Parkview Hospital, where he served as Chairman of the Section of Thoracic Surgery.  In this capacity he developed and led several quality improvement programs, improving patient outcomes as well as reducing hospital costs.  During this time he also developed the first critical pathways to be used in Northeast Indiana.  After his retirement from surgery, he pursued a life long interest in End of Life care, and became board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.  His interest in medical innovation and quality improvement led him to Solstice Medical, where he now serves as a medical consultant. 

 

Alan W. McGee, MD

Specializing in surgeries of the spine, Alan W. McGee, M.D., is a native of Fort Wayne and a surgeon with SpineONE, a division of Orthopaedics Northeast. The 1975 Salutatorian of North Side High School, Dr. McGee graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He went on to receive his medical degree there in 1982, graduating with honors. Dr. McGee performed his internship with the Family Practice Residency of Fort Wayne. Reaffirming his commitment to the community, he also served his orthopaedic residency at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana. Dr. McGee completed his spine fellowships at the Kenton D. Leatherman Spine Center, Louisville, Kentucky, and the Denver Spine Center at Toronto General Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dr. McGee is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, where he retains an active membership. Other memberships afforded Dr. McGee are the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society, the Wright State African American Medical Scholarship Program, the Martin Luther King Jr. Club, the North American Spine Society, the Black Medical/Dental Association and the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association.

 

John Fallon, MD, MBA

Dr. Fallon is a practicing clinician for over 15 years in Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery. He is Board-Certified and a member of the American College of Surgeons.  In addition, he holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, having graduated with honors. 

Dr. Fallon is a Assistant Clinical Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine and has taught both undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Medicine and the School of Buisness.  His business interests are in Information Technology, practice models, and Finance.

 

Julie Fleck, RN, CNOR, HCA

Ms. Fleck is the Chief Operating Officer for the Parkview Ortho Hospital in Fort Wayne Indiana. Parkview Ortho hospital is a joint venture specialty Hospital with Ortho Northeast.

She assisted with the planning and development of Indiana’s first Orthopedic Specialty Hospital located on the Parkview North Campus in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She worked as Clinical Director for Ortho Northeast for 15 years, including responsibilities as Director of Surgery ONE and Imaging ONE. She served as treasurer for the Indiana Federation of Ambulatory Surgical Centers from 1995 through 2001 and has been a board member of the Northeast Indiana Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation since 1995.

Ms. Fleck is an RN graduate from Parkview School of Nursing and holds a Bachelor degree in Health Care Administration from Concordia University in Wisconsin.
